Cheesy Carrot Wraps Recipe in Switzerland – Cook for Under 5 Francs (#3)

Make these healthy, cheesy carrot wraps for less than 4 CHF! A simple, fun, and budget-friendly recipe perfect for lunch, snacks, or meal prep in Switzerland.

Who Knew Carrots Could Turn Into Wraps?

Honestly, this is one of my favorite budget-friendly and easy recipes. It’s colorful, fun to make, packed with nutrients, and super versatile.
Perfect for a quick lunch, a healthy snack, or even meal prep. And it costs just 3.50 CHF in total!

Ingredients & Price

  • 3–4 carrots (or pre-grated if you’re feeling lazy like me) = 1.49 CHF

  • 1 egg = 0.3 CHF

  • Salt, pepper, spices of your choice (paprika, cumin, garlic powder — go wild)

  • Optional: fresh herbs like chives

  • A handful of shredded cheese (mozzarella works great) = 0.8

  • For the filling: cottage cheese, ricotta, ham (or whatever you like!) = 0.9 CHF

Total = 3.40 CHF

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prep the base: Grate your carrots (or use ready-made grated ones). In a bowl, mix them with one egg, salt, pepper, and your favorite spices. Add some chopped chives if you have them.

  2. Add cheese: Throw in a good handful of shredded cheese. Mix everything well.

  3. Shape the wraps: On a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spoon out the mixture and press it into flat, round shapes. Make sure to compact it well so it holds together!

  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Bake the wraps for about 25 minutes, or until golden and slightly crispy on the edges.
  5. Cool & fill: Let them cool completely before gently peeling them off the paper. Then spre
  6. ad your filling — I used cottage cheese, ricotta, and a slice of ham. Fold in half like a taco or wrap it up — and you’re done!

Serving Suggestions

  • Want it vegan? Skip the egg and cheese, try using a bit of flour or flaxseed as a binder.
  • Swap the filling! Try hummus, grilled veggies, tuna salad, or scrambled eggs.
  • Double the batch, they hold well in the fridge for 3 days.
