Sometimes all you want is a warm, creamy, comforting bowl of food… without watching your bank account cry đź«
That’s where today’s recipe comes in: Honey Goat Cheese Gnocchi — rich, sweet-salty, and ready in under 15 minutes. Oh, and did I mention it costs less than 5 CHF?
Welcome back to another episode of Cook with me for less than 5 francs — let’s get into it!
Ingredients (Total ~4.70 CHF – thanks Aldi):
-
450g of gnocchi = 1.4 CHF
-
100g of bacon = 1.27 CHF
-
3 pieces of honey goat cheese = 1.17 CHF
-
2 tbsp of crème fraîche = 0.7 CHF
-
A drizzle of honey = 0.12 CHF
-
Salt & pepper (pantry basics)
Instructions
-
Cook the bacon: In a pan, cook the bacon until crispy.
- Boil the gnocchi: Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi in salted boiling water — they’ll float once ready (takes about 2-3 minutes). Drain and keep a little cooking water aside.
-
Make the sauce: In the same pan, melt the goat cheese with the crème fraîche. Add a splash of the reserved pasta water to get a silky texture. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Combine: Toss the gnocchi in the sauce, add the crispy bacon back in, and finish with a drizzle of honey on top. That sweet-salty combo is chef’s kiss
That’s it! Super easy, super comforting, and budget-friendly.
