🍚 What are some Rice Water Benefits for your skin?

  • Brightens complexion with Vitamin C and flavonoids

  • Provides quick, refreshing hydration

  • Balances skin’s oil production naturally

  • Calms inflammation and soothes redness

  • Fights free radicals with its antioxidants

  • Tightens pores with amino acids

💭 Curious? But… What is rice water?

In Asian cooking, it’s a common practice to give the rice a good rinse before cooking, not just for cleanliness (washing away any potential dust and debris) but also to remove excess starch. This rinse-off becomes nutrient-rich and vitamin-packed from the grains, and is a natural way of achieving a more radiant skin complexion!

And here’s the good news — All types of rice can work for making effective rice water!

White Rice: The classic, rich in vitamins and minerals.

Brown Rice: Extra antioxidants and protein, it’s great for skin repair and rejuvenation.

Black Rice: The antioxidant champ, with high levels of anthocyanin.

Red Rice: Rich in iron and zinc, it is good for irritated or sensitive skin.

  1. Give your rice a triple rinse, but let’s keep the last water.
  2. Pour the rice water into a clean container. 🫙💧
  3. Chill it in the fridge – it’s good for about a week, but fresh is best.
  4. Use it as a rice water toner, rice water face wash, or as a mask – it’s your call!
  5. Bonus hair tip: A post-shampoo rice water for hair rinse can leave your locks silky and shiny.✨🧖🏻‍♀️
