Adventure with your little ones in Biezwil, SO

Exploring Zelgli Träff with my family.

Last weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of experiencing the unique charm of Zelgli Träff, nestled on the Reusser family farm in Biezwil, SO. Equipped with a treasure map, we embarked on a journey along the farm’s one-of-a-kind interactive educational trail, ‘Milchstrasse,’ making it a memorable Saturday outing.

Spanning about 1.5 kilometers (easily accessible with a stroller), the trail took us through 15 different stations, each offering games, challenging puzzles, and a wealth of information about agricultural practices. From animal husbandry and grain cultivation to ecological services, every station was a mini-lesson in farming, complete with engaging quizzes and activity suggestions.

For my daughter, the most exciting part was the treasure chest that awaited us at the end of the trail, igniting her imagination about the possible treasures inside. Zelgli Träff also caters to the needs of young visitors with its playground, petting area featuring adorable dwarf goats, and a farm shop stocked with refreshing drinks, snacks, and delectable ice cream, perfect for our rejuvenating breaks along the way.

One of the newest features is integrating each station with Smartrail, requiring a smartphone with internet access to enhance the learning experience. It’s essential to bring a fully charged phone to get the most out of your visit.

Admission is CHF 7.00 per person (children under three enter for free), and payment is conveniently possible via cash or TWINT, a popular mobile payment system in Switzerland.
Stick horses are also available, adding an extra layer of fun as kids can ride them along the trail.

Open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, from April 13 to June 30, 2024, the Milchstrasse offers a fun and educational experience for the whole family. I recommend visiting if you want to spend quality time with your loved ones while learning about Swiss agriculture in an interactive setting. For more details on their opening times, check out their website.

Our visit to Zelgli Träff was not just educational but also incredibly enjoyable. Places like these remind us of the simple joys of spending time together as a family, exploring and learning in the great outdoors. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, this is a beautiful way to spend your weekend.
