Clubhouse! A threat to copyright?

In the last post, I described the merits of new Clubhouse app. There we found out what makes it special. And that was useful for those who wanted to download the app.

However, there are some things you have to consider when deciding to create an account at Clubhouse.

Let’s talk about them in detail.

Sorry Android

You cannot download the Clubhouse if you have Android. IPhone users might be surprised, but most people worldwide have Android. This means that most of your friends, and possibly yourself, will not be able to get into the Clubhouse yet without becoming the owner of an iPhone.

Even if you have an Apple gadget, you still can’t get into the Clubhouse just like that. To access the service, you need an invitation from those who are already using Clubhouse. Sometimes this can be a problem if your friends have already given out their invitations as their number is limited.

Your conversation is being recorded

The privacy policy says that the service can collect all the information that is given to it during registration and use personal data.

For example, Clubhouse reserves the right to record all conversations that are conducted through the social network. It is unclear how the platform will use the recorded audios. So, there are certain risks.

Threats to copyright

The service itself does not really have the function of recording a conversation, but nothing prevents users from making a recording on an external device, such as a dictaphone.

Everyone can see you

Clubhouse is a social network. You may have subscribers there. All of them will know exactly what room you are in. Therefore, all your subscribers can see that you are discussing some sensitive topic right now. There is no incognito mode at the Clubhouse.

Clubhouse is live

If you are overwhelmed with work and missed an interesting conversation, you have no opportunity to listen to it later on: recording of dialogues at the Clubhouse is not provided.

No verified accounts

Tomorrow you may see Madonna, or the President of the United States come to the Clubhouse and set up a conversation with an intriguing topic. But now there is not a convenient tool that allows you to understand if they are real. There have already been cases when impostors came to the Clubhouse.
