Vision Board: What Does It Mean & How To Create One Online

Sometimes organization is not about short term tasks, but rather about longterm plans. Have you ever asked yourself where do you want to be in 5 years? Which goals you’d like to achieve? Which kind of person you aspire to be in 12 months? If these questions scare you but at the same time also intrigue you, maybe it’s time for you to create your very first vision board.

But first, what is a vision board?

Vision boards, also known as dream boards, are a powerful visualization tool that allows you to put in form of a collage your future plans, the person you want to become, the goals you want to reach and the dreams you have.

What should I include in my personal vision board?

That’s actually up to you. You can use pictures, drawings, motivational quotes, your personal motto, your 3 biggest goals in life, the lyrics of your favourite song, the things you want to change, the life path you want to take. In simple words you can do whatever you want, as long as it motivates and inspires you.

How do I start?

Well, you have one big decision to take first: do you want to have a tangible vision board, or an online one? Let’s see what are the pros and cons of both versions!

Paper version

Advantages: it’s tangible, it allows you to disconnect from the internet and it gives you the possibility to really play with colours, scissors, glue and pictures.

Disadvantages: it can get messy, you’ll need to buy all the DIY products and you won’t be able to carry it with you wherever you go. Unless you take a picture of it.

Online version

Advantages: it’s free, you won’t need to go shopping, you can keep it on your smartphone and above all there won’t be any glitters and glue involved.

Disadvantages: it can feel a little less creative, and if you don’t print it out you will not be able to hang it on a wall.

  1. Vero, I love your post! This is just a wonderful idea of how to motivate yourself! I often do something similar with my travel plans by putting together pictures. But I’ve never thought of creating such a vision board. The video is a great way to show how easy it is to do.

  2. Cool article – I have actually never thought about an online version of a vision board. I like the idea however for this I still prefer to craft things offline – the process is more fun. 🙂

  3. Very cool idea!! I love vision boards, they’re a great way to put your thoughts and wishes on the map.
