How to find your dream job in Switzerland?

Today I want to share a few tips and tricks to make finding a job easier and more fun. I really hope this information will help you to find your dream job here in Switzerland:

  1. Networking in Switzerland is really important! Moreover, as I experienced (have seen, and heard) chances that you find your dream job here with the help of somebody’s recommendation is much higher than if you just apply online. You can start to search for a job even before arriving to this country. Leverage your professional contacts to develop your network. You may not know anyone from Switzerland yet, but what are the chances that someone from your company knows someone who can help you. Also don’t forget to develop and use your Linkedin and Xing accounts. Make it look good and professional and friendly 🙂
  2.  Learn and improve your language skills. Switzerland has four official languages. It is very benificial if you know at least one of them.
  3. If you are an English speaker (and currently not fluent in any of the official languages), check the international companies such as UBS, Credit Suisse, Siemens, Google and so on. You can find plenty of open vacancies on job-searching platforms listed further down.
  4. If you are a student, check this website: https://futurepreneurship.work. This is a matching platform for employers and employees, where you can find plenty of internships in various industries offered by start-ups.
  5. Install and use the application “meetup”, where you can find plenty of clubs and communities. Use those to gather with other people on a regular basis and develop your network. Discuss and share ideas: again, the variety of offered business sectors is huge! Meeting people who are interested in the same areas are more likely to recommend you and therefore increase your chances of finding a perfect job.
  6. Pay attention to your CV: it should be structured, straightforward and easy to process. Also it helps if it looks good at first sight.
  7. Check these websites:
