Easter is a time when the whole family gets together, children search for chocolate eggs, and adults eat Easter dinner. This holiday has a deep history, but today we will focus on Easter decorating.
Did you know that the Easter Bunny as we know it today comes from Germany in the 1600s. The bunny became known as Oschter Haws in the 1680s, and children in German town began building nests for the bunnies in hats and bonnets, which eventually evolved into baskets (Greg Tobin, 2011). In orthodox countries as Ukraine, they have other traditions, for instance handmade painted eggs – pysanky. Eggs are designing using a beeswax stylus to make a dye-resistant coating (Moysey A. et al., 2018).

Now we decorate our homes with bunnies, colorful eggs, pastel tableware and flowers to create a real springtime atmosphere. For your inspiration and ideas, Colombo presents a wide range of high quality Easter decoration products, including beautifully crafted rabbits and sheep, colorful egg decorations and charming seasonal figurines to brighten up your home. You are welcomed to watch my video, where I showed how Colombo has prepared for Easter.

It’s fascinating to learn about the Easter Bunny’s origins! I had no idea the tradition started in Germany in the 1600s. I also love the idea of incorporating Ukrainian pysanky eggs into Easter decorâsuch a beautiful cultural touch.
