What to Bring on Any Citytrip

In my last post I showed you which 7 toiletries I always take on any trip. These are absolutely crucial in my opinion but for a successful and happy trip, you might wanna take some more things. So here follows what else I pack in my backpack if I go to a citytrip.

What you will want to have in your backpack

1. 7 Toiletries

You might recognize the seven toiletries on the top left. If not, check out my last post! There you can read what exactly you can find in my vanity bag I always keep with me.

2. Sunglasses

This might be trivial but if you forget them, you surely will miss them! So make sure you got a pair of sunglasses in your backpack at any times. The ones you see above are spectacle lenses – this might be expensive but trust me, it’s absolutely worth it! I usually wear these more often than my normal spectacles during a vacation.

3. Your Wallet

Of course, you take your wallet with you. I have a wallet just for my vacation. It was very cheap so that if it gets stolen, it is not too bad. Also, I only put the most necessary stuff in my wallet: My passport, one credit card (I keep a second one in a different place for emergencies), my insurance card and a bit of cash. I never got my wallet stolen but if I did, I would still be able to enjoy my vacation without it.

4. Food & Water

I always keep a food bar in my backpack because I become really angry if I’m hungry. Also, you should take a reusable plastic bottle with you. You can refill it and not produce any waste in your destination. Because you don’t know if you can recycle there. I also always have some mints or chewing gums with me.

5. Camera

You will want to take pictures, of course. Either take your phone or another camera with you. I have this great Instax Polaroid camera which I absolutely love. It accompanies me on any trip.

6. Travel Guide

This really depends on the type of traveller you are. If you like to know what will expect you, you definitely should buy one of these. You can read it on your journey there or in the evening in your bed. I read a travel guide in order to get a broad overview on a city. Where can I eat, where are some bars that will be fun, what sight shouldn’t I miss and so on. Usually, there are also some great routes for your morning stroll in any travel guide.

7. Jacket

Or a scarf – just anything that fits into your backpack and keeps you warm in case you need it. I love my jeans jacket because I can just squeez it in any bag or backpack. Make sure you also have it with you on your flight, if you travel by plane. If you are in a muslim country, you should always have some clothing with you to cover your skin.

If I got all of that in my backpack, my trip can start and I know that I will be fine! Thank you guys for reading and if you have any questions, just post them in the comment section below! I’m here to help you with anything.
