Hey again
Have you ever wondered what the meaning behind automobiles logos is?
My first blog was about transportation, cycling adventures and also the problems experienced.
In my second blog, I tried to explain where the idea of #EasyMobiliser was born and an overview of the transportation system.
Although it is a bit far from the subject, let’s take a look at some interesting stories behind the brands of automobiles and their logos.
If we’re going to solve a problem, first we have to identify the main cause that created the problem, right? ?
Let’s get started, maybe you’ve never heard of these stories before?
Here Are The Stories of Some Popular Car Brands
ALFA ROMEO
The Alfa brand received the surname of Romeo in 1919, nine years after its foundation. Romeo, which was the name of an Italian man in historical novels, gave meaning to the brand. Romeo was just an Alfa engineer’s surname, Nicola.
When the company was established in Milan in 1910, the management decided to use two symbols of the city as a logo. The first symbol was a red cross that was typically a symbol of the Crusades in Milan. The second was a snake taken from the flag of the Visconti Family which was the ruler of Milan in the 14th century. This interesting logo symbolizes the victory against Arabs in the first Crusade.
BMW
The initials of the factory were used to form the brand name, Bayern Motor Werken. The blue and white colors of BMW’s emblem come from the German state of Bavaria.
Since 1929, BMW has been producing aircraft and engines, and the emblem also includes a rotating propeller figure shows suitability for production within the tire. Later on, BMW started to manufacture cars and chose to use the same emblem.
FERRARI
The prancing horse was originally the symbol of Countess Paulina Baracca who was inspired by her own family pennant and presented it to Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the company. The yellow color on the floor of the logo represents the city of Modena, where the company is located, and the love for the race.
LAMBORGHINI
Ferrucio Lamborghini, a farmer who lived in the village of Renazzo near Bologna, pursued his dreams. During World War II, he chose to produce tractors and air conditioning and thus became very wealthy.
These lines coming from the fairy tale are actually real. One day, Ferrucio decided to produce the perfect car and even leave Ferrari behind. All this took place in 1963 and the bull which was a sign of the brand he created came from Taurus he had.
MERCEDES
Carl Benz, who worked in a car with Daimler Chrysler, could not find a name, so he gave the name of his only daughter, Mercedes-Benz, to this car.
Mercedes, which is among the best-known brands in the world, defines the power of the brand in a land, air and water. Mercedes is placed in the first place as the most stolen figure as well as it is the best-known brand in the world.
