Pesto Burrata Sandwich for Under 5 Francs #4

Sometimes, the best meals are the simplest ones — especially when they’re budget-friendly and feel a little fancy

Today’s recipe is exactly that:
A Pesto Burrata Sandwich
It’s creamy, herby, fresh — and still comes in at under 5 CHF.

Welcome back to Cook with me for less than 5 francs!
Everything you see here is from Aldi, and yes — even burrata can be part of a budget-friendly meal if you portion it right.

 Ingredients (approx. 4.50 CHF total):

  • Half bread (~0.50 CHF)

  • A few slices of deli meat (ham, prosciutto, etc.) (~0.6 CHF)

  • A spoonful of pesto (~0.10 CHF)

  • A handful of arugula (~0.40 CHF)

  • A few cherry tomatoes (~0.50 CHF)

  • 1 burrata ball (~2.75 CHF)

  • Salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice your bread: Slice it in half lengthwise.

  2. Spread the pesto: Go in with a generous layer on one or both sides of the bread.

  3. Add your layers: Start with your meat, then top with arugula and sliced or halved cherry tomatoes.

  4. Add the burrata: Gently tear it in half and place it on top of the other ingredients.

  5. Season & finish: A pinch of salt, pepper, maybe a little more pesto drizzle — fold the sandwich, press it down gently… and enjoy!

This one’s perfect for a quick lunch or even a no-effort dinner.
