Invest in memories, invest in travel: Closing Play (Wonders of the World)

As my last blog here, I share with you some of the many Wonders of the World

I hope you like it!

Peru

Let’s start with the incredible gem of my country: Machu Picchu. So far, I’ve only had the chance to visit twice, but it’s definitely worth going back for more. It’s located in the city of Cusco, which has a vibe like no other—there’s just something magical about its atmosphere. You can feel the positive energy in the air.

Cusco is alive every day of the week, all year round, with tourists everywhere and plenty of activities to do. Whether it’s hiking, rafting, mountain biking, ziplining, or exploring nearby towns like Paucartambo, Urubamba, and Aguas Calientes, there’s always something to keep you busy.

Of course, Machu Picchu is a must-see, but there’s also Wayna Picchu, the stunning Huamantay Lake, the Ausangate Lakes, and the famous Rainbow Mountain. If you’re into adventure sports, Urubamba is perfect for that too. Cusco is a goldmine for all sorts of activities!

As for accommodation, you’ll find everything from budget options starting at $15 USD a night to luxury stays costing hundreds. And the food? There’s something for every taste, whether you’re into local cuisine, international flavors, or fusion dishes. Public transport isn’t great, but taxis are cheap and easy to find. The train to Machu Picchu is pricey, but trust me, it’s one of those things you’ve got to experience at least once in your life.

So dive into Cusco, there’s so much to do, and I promise you won’t regret it!

Brazil

Let’s talk about Rio de Janeiro and all the amazing things you can do there! First up, the city’s Wonder of the World: Christ the Redeemer. It sits at the top of a mountain, and it’s super easy to get there by car. Once you’re up, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the entire city. It’s a must-do, and the ticket price is surprisingly affordable.

Another can’t-miss spot is Sugarloaf Mountain. The cable cars take you from one massive rock to another, and the views of the city are just incredible—truly a sight to behold.

Then, of course, there’s Copacabana Beach. Beautiful, lively, and full of energy. Don’t forget to grab a fresh coconut while you’re chilling by the beach!

Mexico

Now let’s head a bit further north to Mexico, specifically to Cancún, where you’ll find the wonder of the world known as Chichen Itza. I’ve had the chance to visit this incredible place three times, and it never fails to amaze me! Plus, I lived in Cancún for a while, which makes it one of my absolute favorite places in the world!

Chichen Itza will blow your mind—the architecture is just stunning. Twice a year, during the equinox, you can witness the famous “descent of the serpent,” where a shadow creates the illusion of a snake slithering down the side of the pyramid. It’s a sight you have to see to believe.

As an archaeological site, Chichen Itza also features other fascinating structures, like the ball court where they played a game called Pok Ta Pok using only their hips, forearms, or thighs. The history and rituals, including sacrifices at the end of the game, are incredibly interesting.

Not far from there, you’ll find the Ik Kil Cenote, which is an absolute must-visit. The water’s stunning color, surrounded by lush vegetation, is the perfect spot to cool off, especially when it’s 38°C outside!

Italy

Now let’s cross the world to Italy, where we’ll find the incredible Roman Colosseum. Wow, it’s truly breathtaking how massive it is! The structure itself is remarkable, especially considering the time period it was built in. When you think about all that happened inside—countless lives lost—it really feels like something from another world. It’s definitely a must-see for its historical significance alone.

I also had the chance to visit the Roman Colosseum in Pula, Croatia, which is equally impressive but much smaller in scale. Still, it’s an amazing piece of history to explore.

While you’re in Rome, there’s no shortage of things to do, and every single one of them is worth it. From visiting the Vatican, exploring the Roman Forums, seeing the Pantheon, tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain, checking out the Castel Sant’Angelo, wandering around Trastevere, to marveling at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore—the list goes on. Don’t miss the chance to experience Rome, it’s absolutely a must-do!

Jordan

Now, let’s head to Asia, specifically to Jordan and the incredible wonder known as Petra. To start, getting there is pretty straightforward—it’s a few hours of walking, but it’s super manageable. You’ll pass through stunning reddish rock formations that give Petra its unique atmosphere. It’s mind-blowing to think that this was a thriving trading hub connecting Arabia, Egypt, and Syria, right in the middle of nowhere. The photos you’ll take there are absolutely spectacular.

While you’re in the area, definitely make a stop at the Dead Sea. It’s amazing how you can float effortlessly without even moving a muscle! Another must-do is visiting Wadi Rum and spending the night in a Bubble Tent. It’s one of the top experiences I’ve ever had—it feels like you’re in a Star Wars movie! It’s an absolute must-do for an unforgettable adventure!

Egypt

Now let’s move to Africa, specifically to Egypt, and the world-renowned Pyramids of Giza. Wow, talk about impressive! Just seeing these structures makes you marvel at the sheer effort involved—stone by stone, millions of blocks, hundreds of thousands of workers, and 27 years of construction. It’s truly a wonder from every angle.

The history here stretches back thousands of years, and there are so many archaeological sites to explore. You definitely shouldn’t miss the Cairo Museum with its vast collection of artifacts, the Temple of Karnak, the Nile River, the Temple of Luxor, and more. Egypt is a place you should visit at least once in your lifetime. Be prepared for strong sales pitches from locals, though, which is understandable given the country’s economic conditions. The Pyramids are a must-see and worth every bit of the history and awe they hold. Don’t miss out!

I leave you with some super travel tips…
