Cruelty-free and Vegan Logos

Welcome back to the blog! In this post, we’ll learn the vegan and cruelty-free logos and their meanings. The terms “cruelty-free” and “vegan” are usually used interchangeably by companies and customers, but they actually have different meanings. A product can be both of them or only one of them but not the other. Let’s take a look at their differences.

“Cruelty-free” and “Vegan”

When a product is labeled as both ‘cruelty-free and vegan,’ this means it was not tested on animals, and it doesn’t include any animal products or ingredients.

“Cruelty-free” but “not Vegan”

If a product is labeled as ‘cruelty-free but not “vegan,” this means it was not tested on animals; however, it contains some animal-derived ingredients or by-products.

“Vegan” but “not Cruelty-free”

If a product is stated to be “vegan” but may not be “cruelty-free,” this means it doesn’t contain any animal or animal-derived ingredients. However, the products or their ingredients may have been tested on animals.
