The end of our “find your dream hotel” journey is around the corner – can you believe it? Yet I am asking myself whether I was able to convince you of the easy-peasy way and fun of booking your travels yourself, rather than consulting a travel agent. Are you still on the fence? Then keep reading and get excited for some benefits of the “book yourself” concept.
I am very well aware of the convenience a travel agent can provide you. Tell your agent your destination and type of travel, and you are done. But let me tell you something. Not being able to plan travels oneself can be a major con for some people. To me, the planning process is part of the overall travel experience, making me stoked.
Also, think about flexibility. Booking your travels yourself can be done anytime and anywhere, including booking changes and cancellations. This is such a plus! I mean, who wants to depend on someone’s timetable?
Lastly, let’s talk about the price. For sure, travel agents sometimes appeal with great bundled deals or discounted prices. But don’t get fooled, because most of the time the costs of using a travel agent overweigh the possible savings and you don’t actually save any money.
As you might notice, I’m really passionate about this topic and could go on and on. But since moderation is key, I will stop to overrun you with my overexcitement. Instead, I would love to hear about your experiences! What are your thoughts on travel agencies? Comment down below.
