Ciao peeps! Welcome back to Photography for Beginners! So far, we’ve explored composition, lighting, and how to make the most of your phone camera. Today, we’re heading out into the streets — my most favourite type, where life unfolds moment by moment. Street photography is all about capturing the world as it is: raw, spontaneous, and full of character. Scroll down to learn about few insights, that helped me improve my skills:)

Observe Before You Shoot
Don’t rush. Take time to observe your surroundings. Look for:
-
Details that others might overlook
- Let the scene develop around you
Street photography is as much about seeing as it is about shooting.
Embrace the Imperfection
Street photography is not about technical perfection — it’s about emotion.
-
A blurry subject can still tell a story
-
Harsh light or grain can add atmosphere
-
A slightly crooked angle might feel more real
Let go of perfectionism. Focus on the feeling.
Be Street Smart
Always respect your environment and the people in it:
-
Be aware of local laws around photographing people in public
-
Don’t invade personal space,
-
If someone notices and objects, delete the photo
Photography should never come at the cost of someone’s comfort or safety.
Final Thoughts
Street photography is a wonderful way to train your eye, connect with your surroundings, and tell real stories through your images. The city is a canvas — every moment is fleeting, and every photo is a piece of time you’ve preserved.
