Running alone or in a group

Running Solo vs. In a Group: What Runners Really Think

Some people run alone to clear their head. Others thrive with the energy of a running crew.
Personally, I like running solo, it gives me peace, flexibility, and time to disconnect but joining a running club once or twice a month has helped me meet amazing people who share the same goals along with some tips or routes to use.

But what do other runners think?

🧠 What Science Says

A study found that people who exercise in groups tend to form stronger social bonds, and these connections make them more likely to stick with their workout routine. This suggests that running in a group can do more than improve your fitness,  it might also help you stay consistent by making the experience more enjoyable and communal.

You can find local running clubs in cities like BogotĂĄ, Lucerne, Zurich, Madrid, London, New York, or Singapore.
But if there’s no club near you
why not start your own? Post on social, grab a friend, and run for coffee. â˜•đŸƒâ€â™€ïž

Hey there! I’m Juliana García, 31yo, and I recently moved to Switzerland to pursue my master’s degree. Between adapting to a new country, balancing studies, and figuring out life here, I’ve somehow decided running was a good idea! But how does running fit into a busy life? Is being hungry all the time normal? And seriously- what am I supposed to think about for an entire hour while running? More than just a fitness challenge, this is also a journey to connect with people, explore Switzerland, and see if I can survive a 10K without regretting all my life choices. So, if you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to start running—or just need a partner in crime for the struggle—let’s do this together!
