Manta Cruz Dive Centre, located in Biel, Switzerland, offers a range of freediving and scuba diving packages tailored to meet your goals, whether you’re looking to accelerate new skills, embark on underwater explorations, or simply prepare for an unforgettable adventure.
Breath-holding diving has been around since ancient times, as it was one of the methods of gathering food and sea resources that relied on holding the breath and diving fully depending on the scale of the oxygen in your lungs, without using scuba gear.
Freediving is mainly about making each dive on a single breath, holding your breath, and diving deep then returning to the surface. The main and biggest tool you depend on is your lungs, and since this sport mainly relies on breath-holding, it has a significant effect on psychological intricacies because it allows you to focus on managing the body and mind. Along with enjoying greater flexibility without scattering a lot of equipment and a natural exploration of the marine world.
It was established as a competitive sport in the 20th century and was recognised by the “Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques” (CMAS) in 1959, where it standardised the rules and regulations of freediving competitions, which allowed the sport to come to life and become more than just a profession.
Afterwards, many affiliations with freediving certification agencies arose; some of the most famous ones are the “International Association for the Development of Apnea” (AIDA), “Scuba Schools International” (SSI), and Molchanov.
Manta Cruz Dive Centre offers both SSI and AIDA certificates, with an introductory beginner course starting at 250 CHF.
The beginner course would set your feet on a set of different underwater skills. and, most importantly, exploiting new capabilities to reach full control over the body and the mind.
