Sharing Inspiration. The World of Fabergé. Part 5

Inspiration which flew through the centuries.

I would not lie if I say that each and every work of Carl Fabergé is a magnificent treasure.  But one of them is special for me. The inspiration for this item flew through the centuries, started in the 1770s, flew to 1908 and has reached us today. It is an amazing Peacock Imperial Egg.

The Peacock egg was inspired by the 18th-century Peacock Clock made by James Cox. The clock was a present from Grigory Potemkin to Catherine the Great. The Peacock Clock was housed in the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which is now the Hermitage Museum.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the trade name Fabergé returned to the family. And one of the new watch collections was inspired by Peacock Imperial Egg.

It is hard for me to describe the feeling I have when I see those gorgeous objects of art. Each of them is so different and similar at the same time. I would like to invite you to have a look at each of them. And feel the inspiration!
