DIY: Face and Body Scrub for Glowing Skin

Hello beautiful readers! ?

Looking for a pamering session that will leave your skin feeling irresistibly smooth? Today, you’re in for a treat as we embark on a journey to create your very own face and body scrub using salt or sugar and essential oils.

Benefits of Face & Body Scrubbing

Face and Body scrubs remove dead skin cells, offering benefits like:

  • Better moisturizer absorption: By clearing away dead cells, face & body scrubs allow moisturizers to penetrate deeply, enhancing hydration.
  • Prevention of pore blockage: Regular use reduces the risk of razor bumps and ingrown hairs by unclogging pores.
  • Smoother, more even skin: Removing dry cells promotes a smoother, more uniform skin texture and appearance.

Preparing the skin before applying a body scrub is important to achieve optimal results and avoid possible irritation. Before delving into the details of preparing your skin for a skin and body scrub application, let me first guide you through the process of creating the scrubs.

Preparing your Skin

Here are some steps you can follow before applying a face and body scrub:

  1. Moisturize the skin: Wet your skin with warm water to soften the top layer of dead skin cells.
  2. Cleanse the skin: Use a mild cleanser to remove dirt and oil.
  3. Heat or steam: Take a warm shower or bath to open the pores and soften the skin even more.
  4. Drying: Gently pat your skin dry with a towel, leaving it slightly damp for optimal scrub application.

Once you have prepared your skin, you can gently apply the body scrub in circular motions. Avoid rubbing too hard so as not to irritate the skin. After exfoliating, rinse the skin thoroughly with low warm water and gently pat dry.

How often doing a Face or Body Scrub?

Exfoliation should be done once or twice weekly to effectively eliminate dead skin cells and encourage skin cell regeneration. However, for individuals with very delicate and sensitive skin, exfoliating every 14 days is recommended to avoid over-irritation.

Precautions:

  • always perform an allergy test on the elbow before use (at least 24 hours) because EO can be potentially irritating
  • avoid eye contact
  • keep away from heat and light
  • be careful when using EO, never exceed the recommended dose
  • do not use during pregnancy or while breast-feeding
  • do not use on children

⚠️: Before you follow my instructions, I strongly suggest you to first identify the products your skin cannot tolerate to avoid allergic reactions, because yes even if a product is 100% natural it cannot be suitable for you.
