Southeast Asia, what an adventure
And so the epic journey commenced! ? Living in New Zealand, on the other side of the world, I thought, “Why not take advantage and explore a part of Asia?” And so my journey began!
Malaysia
First, we made a stop in Malaysia, specifically in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. What a modern city, full of towering skyscrapers like the iconic Petronas Towers! And I can’t even begin to talk about the temples and the bustling street markets brimming with culinary delights. ?️ It was like a festival for my palate, trying dishes from all over!
Then we headed to Melaka, a city steeped in history with its colonial buildings and an endless list of attractions to discover. ? And, of course, the food… you can’t miss it! ?
Singapore
The next destination on our list was Singapore. Oh my, what a modern city! Everything was like something out of a science fiction movie, from the Spectra – A Light & Water Show show in front of Marina Bay Sands to the stunning Gardens by the Bay. ? And the cleanliness, safety, and public transportation, impeccable! And don’t even get me started on Sentosa Island, that place left me speechless! ?️
Indonesia
Next, we arrived in Bali, Indonesia. Here we found paradise for coffee lovers☕, as well as an infinite number of temples that left you in awe. And the mischievous monkeys trying to steal everything in exchange for food! ? It was a mind-blowing experience. And the food… simply delicious. Bali is like diving into a sea of culture.
Thailand
We continued on to Bangkok, Thailand, and boy, is it a madhouse! From its magnificent temples to the bustling street food scene on every corner. It’s a city that never sleeps. And, of course, we took the opportunity to relax on the beaches, starting with Ko Phi Phi, full of life and activity, and then heading down to Ko Lanta and Ko Lipe to find a little more peace and tranquility. ?️ And what about Langkawi, a hidden gem of Malaysia, with its Sky Bridge and parks that leave you breathless.
Vietnam
We then ventured into Vietnam, with stops in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, two cities full of history and cuisine that make you want to stay forever. But the best was yet to come when we arrived at the stunning Halong Bay. ⛵ It was a surreal experience sailing among those huge rock formations covered in vegetation!
Hong Kong
Our next stop was Hong Kong, a true financial and cultural center. The skyscrapers illuminated at night were simply stunning. And I can’t forget places like Lan Kwai Fong, Temple Street Night Market, and the iconic Ngong Ping 360 with its majestic Big Buddha.
Cambodia
Then we headed to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with the idea of visiting Angkor Wat, but ended up exploring the city and learning about its tragic history. We were deeply affected to discover the horrors that took place there.
Laos
Then, in Laos, we immersed ourselves in the serenity of Vientiane and Luang Prabang, where we witnessed the beauty of everyday life and marveled at the rich culture of the country.
And so, without going any further, our incredible adventure through Asia ended. It was a journey that enriched us, dazzled us with its cultural diversity, filled our stomachs with its delicious food, and left us with countless unforgettable memories. Definitely a trip to remember! ?

What a lovely blog Franco! ? Although I live now here in Europe, travelling to Asia for every summer vacation is still a must for me. Not because I am Asian, but because the countries in Asia are rich in culture especially Vietnam ? I hope you can visit my country too which is the Philippines in the future ?
Dear Aves, thank you for such a nice comment. Someday for sure I will visit your country, it is a must!
