Welcome back to my travel blog series, where we uncover Switzerland’s wonders while staying budget-conscious, utilizing the efficient public transport system offered by SBB (https://www.sbb.ch/en). For ski enthusiasts, especially for this trip; I recommend checking out the Snow and Rail pass on the SBB website, where you can snag a discount when purchasing your ski pass and train ticket together (https://freizeit.sbb.ch/en/).
THIRD TRIP: Snow Still Here!! Skiing, Glacier, Cliff Walk and Après-ski.
Take advantage of the remaining weeks of snow by heading to one of Switzerland’s magnificent destinations, where you can partake in multiple activities and visit various sites all in one day, surrounded by snowy mountains.
Engelberg is the perfect spot for visitors of all ages, offering a range of activities amidst breathtaking scenery. To reach Engelberg, hop on a train that will conveniently drop you off close to the ski slopes. There’s even a shuttle bus from the train station to the ski resort, with a quick 2-minute ride. Once at the resort, winter sports enthusiasts can indulge in skiing, snowshoeing, and many other snow and mountain activities in this splendid location.
You will also have the opportunity to sled down the slopes right there on the mountain. With its expansive size, I recommend spending a day at this resort. In the morning, hit the slopes or engage in mountain sports, making the most of the fresh snowfall from the past weeks. There are ski runs of varying difficulty levels (blue, red, and black), and for the adventurous, off-piste skiing is an option.
For lunch, you can either bring your own food or dine at one of the wonderful mountain restaurants. To continue your incredible day, I suggest heading up to the top of Mount Titlis, where you will encounter a magnificent glacier to explore.
After walking for about 5 minutes at the top of Titlis, you will come across the high Titlis Cliff Walk, offering stunning views of the Alps from a suspended bridge.
Afterward, you can continue skiing or descend via cable car. If you head down to the village, you’ll find a wonderful après-ski spot called “The Chalet,” where you can enjoy a hot or refreshing beverage, depending on your preference, accompanied by great music.
I hope you enjoy this fantastic excursion! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
