Invest in memories, invest in travel: My first steps (USA)

A little bit about USA

Living in North Carolina

Back in 1997, when I was just 16 years old, I embarked on an adventure of a lifetime through a student exchange program that took me to the enchanting landscapes of North Carolina, USA! ? Imagine this: a teenager from a small town suddenly finding themselves in a country where everything felt completely different from what they were used to back home. The way everything ran so smoothly in the US was like a superpower, a big change from the organized chaos I was familiar with. ?

Now, let’s talk about my time in high school – it was a total blast! ? From the exciting sports events to the delicious smell of fast food joints on every corner, and the lively parties that catered to every taste – it was an endless parade of excitement and fun! ? Every day brought a new adventure, a chance to enjoy life to the fullest and learn something new along the way.

Visiting other states

But the fun didn’t stop there. I was lucky enough to explore neighboring states like South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington DC, Florida, Michigan, and Ohio. ? Each trip felt like stepping into a completely different world, with new people to meet, delicious foods to try, and lively festivals to experience. ? It was like my curiosity had been sparked like never before, driving me to seek out new adventures with enthusiasm.

That year was full of ups and downs that changed me in so many ways. Every day brought new challenges, giving me the chance to push my limits and discover more about myself. And when it was time to go back home, I didn’t just bring back memories – I also brought back a new way of seeing things, a deeper understanding of life, and a strong desire to keep exploring and experiencing new things. The world was full of possibilities, and I was eager to dive in and see what awaited me. ?

If you’re planning a trip to the United States, let me tell you about some must-visit destinations. First off, Washington D.C. is a city you can’t miss. With its imposing monuments like the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial, along with a rich history and vibrant cultural scene, there’s always something exciting to do. ?️ And if you love nature and outdoor sports, the Carolinas are your ideal destination. Both North Carolina and South Carolina are known for their lush green landscapes and for offering activities like Discgolf, a fun twist on traditional golf. ?️ And if you have the chance to go to South Carolina, you must go for Spring Break to Myrtle Beach, it’s a blast!

If you prefer the energy of a college town, then Michigan is your spot. The city of Ann Arbor is famous for its lively atmosphere, especially during party nights. Plus, Michigan boasts beautiful coastlines along the Great Lakes, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

And, of course, how can we forget the city that never sleeps? New York, the Big Apple! ? Manhattan is just a small part of what this metropolis has to offer. From Times Square to Central Park, there’s so much to see and do that I assure you won’t get bored for a second. Do not forget to try a street hot dog in Manhattan. And don’t miss out on the other boroughs of the city, like Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, each with its own personality and unique attractions.

Hey buddies, I'm one of the oldest students at the university; for me, it's like starting all over again. Many times, I don't understand a lot of things because I'm not as up-to-date as you guys, but I'm happy to be able to share some of my experiences and pass them on with open arms.
