Switzerland is country known for its majestic alps and vast mountain ranges. These offer a wide selection of activities for nature lovers and hobbyist to enjoy. One of these activities, which has been growing in popularity, is the sport of mountain biking. As a country with many mountains and ski lifts, ski resorts have been able to developed and adapted their infrastructure to cater for mountain bikers in the summer. As a result, Switzerland has boomed as an attractive mountain biking destination.
For several years now, Lenzerheide has been renown as the most popular and exciting mountain biking areas in Switzerland. Located in the canton of Graubünden, the mountain village gives riders access to countless trails and routes, including Lenzerheide’s world cup downhill run. But this mountain biking region is still being expanded and developed and a highly anticipated launch of Lenzerheide’s “Bike Kingdom” will be taking place in July this summer.
Under the brand Bike Kingdom, the region has combined lifts and routes from 6 different regions, ranging from the city Chur to the Albula Valley. This new unified area will have 10 lifts that allow access to over 900 kilometers of biking trails to explore. There also is a new bike park with jumps and flow trails. So, regardless of what type of riding you enjoy or what your skill level is, you will be able to find a good trail for you. Another interesting feature of Bike Kingdom is that it will be launched with a mountain biking app that allows users to track their performance and compete against each other.
With the launch of Bike Kingdom, this mountain region is a must-visit for mountain biking fans around the world. Last summer, I was lucky enough to have my first experience mountain biking in Lenzerheide, I will definitely have to go back again!
