The ideas flow, the work opportunities combined with study, a path of desperation and you want to do something, well I don’t know about you, but in my case there is an enormous need to work, as I once read in manifestos of great minds of sociologists and philosophers, some of them are in the Social Contract of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, among others… I have no doubt about the statement that in the human being there is this marked need to get a job or make use of their energies to create, we could add Maslow’s pyramid that explains contemporaneously what I am trying to expose, highlighting the second stage that leads us to the security provided by having a job (or in this case self-employment), I speak of all this, because it is the way in which I add the information received throughout my life to get the results I visualize, a clear example… get the opportunity to be studying a master’s degree at HSLU Switzerland.
Setting up your own business in this country requires many steps, but even though it is difficult, it is not a reason to leave your dreams aside, there will be people along the way that will tell you everything… YES, EVERYTHING! That is their mentality, stay with the good comments while you fix your mind, energy, soul and your whole being on success. As I have already mentioned on several occasions, it depends on your WILL for everything you set your mind to do in life.
I have come across several sources of information that have given me curious data on how to start your own business, if you are looking for self-employment or are tired of looking for a job, which is hard enough when you come from third countries, but you should not be afraid of adversity, it will be constant throughout life and there is no other way to do things but by doing them. Here are the points to consider:
Switzerland is looking for the following from new businesses:
- Lighten the administrative burden
- Develop e-government
- Encourage business creation
- Improve the financing conditions of companies
- Facilitate market access
- Promote innovation
You have a spectacular idea, well… let’s do something about it:
- Market analysis (many launch without knowing ANYTHING ABOUT THE MARKET)
- The business plan (well thought, as we would say in my country… “NO SON ENCHILADAS”)
- Choosing an appropriate legal form:
- Sole proprietorship.
- Partnership
- Limited liability companies (GmbH).
- The joint stock company (AG).
- Branch office.
For more information click here
- Registration in the commercial register (make everything legal, I am sick and tired of corruption so I ASK YOU in the most attentive way to MAKE THINGS LEGAL.!)
- Intellectual property (this is for the protection of your ideas)
Additional facts on why to go down this path of entrepreneurship
There is an 80.4% chance of success for businesses that survive their first year (if you do the above steps well and apply your WILL & COMMITMENT, I see it as a good opportunity to do so).
You require funds, because you have wonderful ideas but you don’t have the capital for now (for those of us who are students with limited economic resources) you have these options:
- Debt financing
- Equity funding
- Mezzanine financing
- Special shapes
- Public aid for business financing
It is explained in depth in the following link or visit www.gruenden.ch where you can find practical online help for business creators.

Thank you, Mijail, for valuable insights. It is not easy to start your own business in any country. Also it is hard to find all the information in one source, but you wrote about each step very clearly showing the path for those, who are interested.
Very informative Mijail, thank you for this post. And the quote, in the end, is a creative way to finish such post 🙂 Good luck to future entrepreneurs!
