Cross cultural communication is extremely important in today’s fast-growing and globalized world. Not only in terms of face-to-face communication between different ethnical individuals but also in an increasingly essential demand in the ability to interact with our community in social media such as Facebook. The means to connect ourselves with different types of people around the globe, with different cultures and backgrounds, makes the success or failure of communication within the social media, increasingly relevant today. For instance, a simple click of the “like” button might have a massive impact on the online and the offline world. There are, of course, also rules and taboos. Things that we can say or shouldn’t say in different cultures, which makes us aware of the key factors of cross cultural communication. This is expressed in values, norms and beliefs and the entire life of a particular culture. Thus, social media grants us the opportunity and challenge to interact and learn from other cultures across the nations.
