Weaponized Incompetence – STUG1

Have you ever held a spear in your hand before? Neither has a 3 year old child. So you can’t expect a child to know a spear is made for stabbing and throwing, and instead use it as a catapult throwing rocks at giant plush animals in their make believe world like the classic David and Goliath story.

Yep.

For this weeks prototype, Pen (our glorious team leader), Daniel and I brainstormed this brilliant idea under the provided concept of „wrong tool“. Pen designed the assets we used in the game, while Daniel and I worked on coding the game by splitting up the workload.

One of the bigger challenges from this 3-day project was deciding as team as to which direction we want our game mechanics to go; should the spear be charged via the positioning of the player relative to the spear, or should it charge via simple hold-and-release?

Luckily our team chemistry worked well together as we merged each of our singular braincells we had remaining after a night of heavy drinking and we were able to decide on which direction to go and pulled off this prototype by the project deadline.

I guess the moral of the story would be drink alcohol.
