STUG1 – Team Gurt | Week 3
Hey there reader. This week was kind of messy but the vision of our game finally stands firm.
We had the opportunity to pitch our current prototype to an external person that provided us with good feedback and tips to use in the developing process. We were looking for feedback on our encounters that were planned to let the player make an impact on the boss. They should be interactive and prompt the player for active decision making.
On Thursday we had another meeting where we had to explain our gameloop and what exactly our goal for the encounters is. We talked for about an hour and left with an uneasy feeling so we sat down and the first thing we said was „Let’s just scratch the encounters entirely“.
So that’s what we did. We scratched the encounters as a whole and decided to break down our game to the core. That meant throwing out all the prototyping we did for those encounters but at the same time it meant basically throwing out all of the problems we were having so far.
So now our game is about building a boss that you think is beatable with your own skill and we can fully focus our time on that.
