Mystery at the Graveyard

STUGA2 – Week 1

Once again it is time to make some Games.

At first we had an idea that involved a piece of candy trying to escape the mouth of a monster with the help of all sorts of other candies. But we ended up abandoning the idea because we could not find an appropriate Gameplay-Style for that setting. We didn’t want to force a game out of an idea for a setting. A bummer, because we really liked the concept

Fortunately, we all agreed on a different idea. Our Game revolves around a Graveyard-Keeper, which takes care of a Graveyard and talks to visitors. As you take control of this Keeper and interact with other Characters, very soon you will find out about a Mystery involving a person that was recently buried in this Graveyard. The goal of the game is to solve that mystery while simultaneously keeping the Graveyard nice and clean. It’s sort of a mix between a Management-Game and Detective-Game.

The Main Character

For the Artstyle, we were inspired by Octopath Traveler. The Characters and some Objects will be pixelated 2D-Sprites in a 3D environment with pixelated textures.

So far Andy has made a playable build in which the player can walk around with some Art Assets by Seraphine. I have outlined some key points in the mystery but it’s currently not that concrete.
