STUGA2_FINALE_METROIDVANIA_MONOS

Welcome to the Finale of STUGA 2! We did it!! Over the past few weeks, there has been great progress in our game and we have even decided on the name of out game, titled „MONOS“ which orginates from the Latin word „Alone“.

MONOS is a metroidvania, set in a post-apocalyptic world where the player has to explore, collect blooming flowers and discover what really happened in this world.

And now, time to present the game!

ENVIRONMENT

Within the game environment, many features have been added such as this beautiful scene which allows players to feel safe, making it a save point! These points are littered around the map.

Apart from the beautiful environment, the world comes with a range of interactables. Who knows, maybe they’ll give you special hints or secrets? Only one way to find out :3

     

To all the plant enthusiasts out there, you can collect awesome-looking plants in the game, so make sure you check every corner to not miss out on any.

     

CHARACTER

After weeks of working with a range of 3D and Motion Capture softwares, the character has come to life! Here are some sneak peaks of the mechanics.

Now you can jump, slide, wall climb and all that jazz around the map

ENEMY

What are enemies that you can find in these ruins? Spiders!
The animation for these creepy crawlies will definitely make you squirm a little and upon much testing, they are now harder to kill! Have fun running around and avoiding them.

 

UI

There has definitely been a lot of developments in the UI, ranging from the addition of more stuff like the Title Screen, and also some fun animations.

 

If orientation is your worst nightmare, have no fear, we have a map now!
(Hopefully this helps :3)

Mechanics

And last but not least, all the fun mechanics that you have seen above (and a lot more) have been implemented into the game. So have fun shooting enemies, running around exploring the map and start your collection journey

All in all, the team has worked really hard and we are excited to be able to finally share our game! It has been a journey of experimenting, occassional crash outs and a lot of learning, but the outcome has been rewarding nonetheless.

This is the end of our STUGA2 project, it was not a long time but still a fun time!!
