This year’s Conference reunites academics (faculty, researchers, and Ph.D. students) and practitioners (filmmakers, artists, VR and game designers, and media producers) to explore the definitions, terms, and practices to frame the conditions of interaction and interactivity in three strands: epistemology, listening, and ecomedia.
Besides the paper debates, the Conference offers several research-creations exhibitions on interactive films and the following workshops: Korsakow Film with the founder Florian Thalhofer and Anna Wiehl, History on a 360° Platform with Betsy Newman and Patrick Hayes, and Interactive Storytelling with Cansu Simsek and Atanur Andic.
Part of the Panel “Visual Ethnography and Notes from the Archive” will also be a paper presentation by Vanessa Zallot with the title “Open, Complex, Messy… Knowledge-Making in Interactive Documentary”.
The new issue of #IFM Journal features all the paper video presentations and the description of the research-creations, and workshopsfrom the #IFM2022, so during the Conference, we can focus on the debate and discussions rather than on live long presentations: https://journals.library.ryerson.ca/index.php/InteractiveFilmMedia/issue/view/133
