Academic Integrity, Citing, Plagiarism

Academic integrity is based on four basic principles. They are crucial to ensuring the independence and credibility of scholarly work:

Reliability in terms of ensuring the quality, transparency and traceability of the research process and its results

Honesty in the development, implementation and communication of research and teaching in a fair and unbiased manner

Respect for other researchers, students, society and the environment

Accountability for research throughout the entire research process

    Documents (in German only):

Reglement zur wissenschaftlichen Integrität und zur guten wissenschaftlichen Praxis der Hochschule Luzern

Kodex zur wissenschaftlichen Integrität der akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz

A careful and comprehensive citation of sources is essential for an academic paper in order to make transparent which ideas and quotations have been taken from other researchers.
