CBD Products: Do you know anything about them? (Video)

Hello! Welcome to my third post of my Awareness Campaign.

Last time we talked about the difference between CBD and THC. So, now I think you are ready to learn about the CBD products that are available in the market.

Here we go…

CBD compound consists the basis for lots of the products, that we can use in everyday life.

These products can be found in many different forms, such as CBD oils you can ingest, CBD topicals you can apply to your skin, CBD edibles you can eat, or CBD vape oils you can inhale through an e-cigarette.

Although CBD oil and other CBD-based products are becoming more and more popular, there are still a lot of misconceptions and misinformation about them.

CBD oil is one of the most well-known and easily accessible products. It is a concentrated extract from the cannabis family of plants that contains much higher amounts of CBD than THC.

Hemp is the main source used to make CBD oil and other CBD products. Marijuana can also be used to make CBD oil, but it is available through medical dispensaries.

The difference between hemp-derived CBD oil and CBD oil from marijuana is the amount of THC stemming from the different plant source.

You don’t remember the difference between CBD and THC? Here is my previous post!

In the following video I have summarized for you some of the most common CBD products.
Let’s have a look at them!

Were Swiss people the biggest CBD users for 2020?

Well, when looking at the expenses per capita, the answer seems like a “yes”.

“Swiss consumers are head-for-head the biggest purchasers of CBD products, according to CBD-Intel’s 2021 market size analysis.
A population of just under 7m created a CBD market with an estimated value of $77m last year. This compares to countries such as France and Germany, where populations of 50m and 68.5m only created markets with a size of $73m and $83m respectively”.

Swiss legislation according to classification

“The range of CBD-containing products is extensive: It includes raw materials such as cannabis buds or powder with a high CBD-content, extracts in the form of oils or pastes and ready to-use products such as capsules, food supplements, liquids for e-cigarettes, tobacco substitutes, scented oils, chewing gums and ointments, some of which are offered as personal care products.
Once a product has been assigned to a particular product category, the corresponding Swiss legislation is applied. If the legal requirements in relation to a specific intended purpose are not satisfied, a product may not be distributed in Switzerland and therefore may not be placed on the market.
The end products are classified on a case-by-case basis taking account of all the relevant factors, including composition, intended use, dosage, etc.
Differing enforcement authorities are responsible for control, depending on the products’ classification. In cases of doubt, the enforcement authority assigns product to particular legislation and takes the necessary measures”.

  2. Definitely gained new insights from this post. I didn’t know that they could also be added into food or beauty products! Have you ever used any products with CBD ingredients?

    1. Hi Megan! Indeed, CBD can be found in ready-made products that are being sold even in supermarkets. I have never tried anything that contains CBD, but if I would do so, that would be in beauty products. For my next post I interviewed a person who uses CBD oil, so stay tuned to find out more! 🙂
