Call me by your change

Call me by your change

“Small changes can make huge destination differences.” — Sean Covey

Lately, the world seems to be lurching from one crisis to another. People feel desperate, frustrated and lost in concurrence.Persistent challenges drain their energy, and they ignore sources of motivation and happiness. Especially during a pandemic, when only sad news are considered as news, people lose hope and get stuck in the same loops.

Unpleasant emotions exist whether you want to acknowledge them or not, but simple changes can promise a huge change.  These tiny commitments can contribute to a new position, better results in studies, better health, weight loss, self-confidence, neglect of depressive feelings, etc.

Change is an ongoing process that requires effort to build and sustain over time. In an ongoing process, small steps follow each time, which can be done under pressure, judgment, and even failure. However, these steps will teach you not to retreat during difficult times and build motivational strategies. To achieve goals, we need to understand how effectively we can motivate ourselves and others. Self-improvement and motivation go together. When you see yourself improving, you are filled with optimism and motivation to push yourself to excel. It‘s a constant cycle that requires you to stay motivated and committed to continuous development. One small change that has improved many people‘s lives, and has improved mine, is investing in self-care.

What does the poet mean by this?

A change in someone’s routine can lead to a massive change in their entire day. For example, setting your alarm clock an hour earlier can be a revolutionary start. That way, you might have an extra hour to enjoy breakfast, work on your body, send some important emails, or listen to the radio. There is no scale of important tasks included in this one hour, but it is undoubtedly an extra productive help.

Another change in the daily routine can be exercise. Sure, it may sound annoying and ordinary, but exercise can help relieve tension in the body and limit stress. Especially in this day and age, access to Social Media has made it easier for us to get started, as there are many people who will guide you for free and work out with you via a screen. For example, there are people on platforms like Instagram who pretend to do workouts, there are weakly organized events from running clubs on Facebook, or live workout sessions on YouTube sports accounts. I guarantee you won’t notice a significant difference in your body after the first month of working out because big changes take time and small sacrifices. But you will let go of old habits and be your own runner. When a big result crosses your path very easily, you will not have time to evaluate your efforts, improve your self-awareness, observe your thoughts and evaluate the result.

Another way to improve not only your physical appearance but also your mental health is through communication. By expanding your environment and talking to different people, you can gain different insights and advice. Sure, it can be difficult to physically meet people, but you can join platforms like Clubhouse or listen to TEDx Talks and podcasts. There are many inspiring people who can motivate and guide you towards self-improvement. One such talk that really influenced my way of thinking was by a speaker called Caroline McHugh. In the beginning. I played the video because I thought her style was very unique, but then I realized that what she was referring to was much more unique than her coat and short hair.

Every person has the potential to start making changes today and continue that struggle all the way to a life transformation. A discernment can trigger big changes in someone’s life, so let that someone be you.

My name is Katerina Ustalli and I come from Greece and Albania. I have studied Media and Communication in Athens and before two years I decided to move in Switzerland. My aim was to attend some German classes and limit my stay in Switzerland to six months, however, the city of Zurich fascinated me and I have already ended up in this city for two years. I love sports and I enjoy being active in social media. I try to combine my passion for fitness with social media and I want to create my own online platform. This goal would be easier with a Master in Online Marketing!
