Vacuum Under the Ocean

You were hoping for one more poem on this blog? Worry not! This one goes a little deeper – physically. It was originally published here.

A life entails

Many a journey

Many, many trips

Lots are boring

Some are quite fun

Others painful

One will end it.

Better take care

Care of your steps

How to sequel

Journeys can melt

Can be aligned

Can add up to

Loosen a rock.

Fun, where the sun

Walking upwards

Wander, are lost

In happiness

Don’t you look down

Else you shall see

More than you will.

Do not climb down

Do not stir up

Do not dare touch

What you cannot

What you can’t grasp

When you’re driving

Beware the depth.

Once you embark

Frosty mission

Once you’re rolling

Deep dive, head down

When that boot strap

Keeping you down

You see no more.

When the colour

Faded away

When this whole world

And all sorrows

Matter no more

You found the dark

The vacuum.

Floating away

Under water

Going nowhere

Aiming nowhere

In the current

Washed neverwhere

With no way out.

I had my trip

To neverland

I had my piece

Of the current

When I washed up

Was no longer

As I had been.

Once you have been

Once you have seen

The ocean grey

From underneath

You know, must go

Reach the surface

Swim upwards, now.

She who has been

In that dry hell

The vacuum

That sterile hell

Knows of the need

Imperative

Don’t stop, ever.

He who was touched

By this madness

Is driven by

Not a clear goal

By the need to

Never go back

The need to live.

How can you know

Know how to live

If you have not

Have never been

Dying, dying

A painless death

Of no meaning.

She who has seen

A cold bottom

Can truly see

The mountains, high

The green of grass

The blue of skies

She sees it true.

To see past pain

As a dark gift

Takes distance, more

Once you do know

Know the power

Of having left

You see its might.

Leave the dark place

Come back to light

Once you’re back

Know to cherish

Ordinary

Know to enjoy

Know how to strive.

Long tale dense core

Wish for noone

To dive so deep

Once you are marked

Use all you have

Strength in scars

Reach for the stars.
