Today we presented our results from our different trips. Then we had a little input about mobile working researches. It was very interesting to see how many people work from home or other places and just about 50% of all the employees work only at the company. I didn’t think there were so many people.
For me it is important to be able to work from home if I want to, since I work more productive and with more desire at home. When i need to work at school and I’m not motivated to do so I won’t get nowhere.

At the end we had a discussion with some professors and company manager about the chances in mobile working and why it is important to the new generation.
We discovered mostly the same advantages and disadvantages like the companies.

  • work wherever you want to
  • work whenever you want to, no strict working hours
  • arrange your day, due to your meeting or appointments

  • the company need to trust their employees
  • you need to be able to arrange your working hours on your own

Exhibition Day

Task 1-3

First there was the introduction for the newcomers, and before we set up all our stuff and prepared the room for the visitors. It was a very nice atmosphere with all the inventions in one room.

Then we could register and choose a colour, so we had our group for the afternoon.
I was with Ruth and we experienced the garage, the washing room and the training room in a different way. We started in the garage and walked around in different ways, running, jumping or crawling on the floor. Then we inspected the washing room, which I liked the most, because there were all the shampoos and bathing salt, which I would have loved to steal, but I didn’t dare.
Then we went up to the training room, and guided another person through the room with closed eyes, so we had to trust this person and rely on him/her. Through this we focused more on or other senses like hearing , feeling or smelling.

Because of all this exercises I was reminded to listen more to my other senses when I need to get to know a new place, with is very interesting for me as an architect.

So the whole day was less about mobile labs, and more about movement and exploring space.

Task 4:

It was very funny to do strange things in strange places with other people, so you see who’s a bit shy or uncomfortable with the situation and who really perks up with this kind of situations. The longer the actions went on, the better everyone joined in.

Preparing for our exhibition

Task 1:

First we had an input to the artduo a&a. The important things about them is that life and art converge. The theme was a summer residence.

In the end we made our own exhibition in the exhibition from a&a, so we kind of ignored their stuff and just focused on our things. But it was not a normal exhibition were you are not allowed to touch anything, still I think they wouldn’t have liked it so much.

Task 2:

We presented and later on discussed all the projects and put them into groups, by function, look or other analogies. There were different views of being creative or collaborative. Like exchange things wither everyone, make a mobile office, make the daily life simpler or just provide structures.

Task 3:

All the things in the exhibition were collected from a&a during their working phase, so the exhibition was about art and movement and we have the topic collaborative and mobile innovation- and creativity environments so this kind of fits together perfectly. We created a space in another space which were similar.

Task 4:

It was great to work in the little group at the end, because we were all from other departments and we all had the idea of creating a structure, but we also had completely different thoughts about the word structure.

Architect: Building

Designer: Shape

Teacher: Order

Business: File order

Minsky Suitcase

We started with a walk in a group from Hergiswil to Horw. There we had the task to get to know each other and find collaborative places.

Then we had a Introduction of space and mobility. And how we should work in collaborative groups. And we learned more about our sponsor <<Witzig>> and what their are doing.

Introduction in Nicht-/Un-/Orte, so we started with what is a space and ended with places and what we are doing on this different state of places.

Task 2:

On the move we need all the important things so we feel comfortable. We are in constant move and your bag/suitcases should not limit you.

A mobile Lab is something very personal, because every persons needs other tools to be creative. Also is creativity not the same for everyone. For me creativity is sketching and drawing, and to collect all my ideas over the day to sort them out in the evening.

Task 3:

First the <<fablab>> was a empty room with just tools as we started to work there was live in the room and it turned in to a little fabric. So the task and the people affect the given room and create a new atmosphere.

Task 4:

It was great to work on different tables, so everyone could just come up to your and make offers to you about your ideas and you could discuss it with the others and help them to find a better or easier ways to get their results. This is very helpful, because so you think further and come to other solutions.
