As the following video shows, with some ingenuity and with water bottles, rooms can be illuminated through the roof with sunlight.

While the use of water bottles might not work well under the weather conditions in Switzerland. I wonder, whether the technological principle could still be used to reduce lighting costs in Swiss workshops?
