Illuminating rooms with sunlight through the roof

As the following video shows, with some ingenuity and with water bottles, rooms can be illuminated through the roof with sunlight.

While the use of water bottles might not work well under the weather conditions in Switzerland. I wonder, whether the technological principle could still be used to reduce lighting costs in Swiss workshops?

I recently updated my virtual rubik’s cube applets with a new functionality. It is now possible to twist a cube by dragging the mouse cursor over the stickers of a cube.
